Dr. Gerald D. (Jerry) Groves
Dr. Groves has spent the past 33 years working as a development consultant
in the fields of human resources, leadership, change management and talent
development. He has been a consultant to governments, international donor
agencies, multi-national and national oil companies, central banks,
telecommunications companies, car manufacturing, and large national and
multi-national conglomerates from West Africa to Southeast Asia. In all, Dr.
Groves has worked in forty-two countries doing action consulting, training,
research and systems creation and development work. Since the mid-1980’s.,
Dr. Groves has been CEO and President of Interface Management International,
an international leadership consulting and management development company.
A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Ph.D. in Organizational
Communication, leadership and change management, he was the Director of the
University of Pittsburgh’s Institute of Training and Organizational
Development (Pitt’s international training and development arm). At Duquesne
University, Dr. Groves has been a Fellow and Founding Co-Director of The
Leadership Institute in the Graduate School of Education, has served as an
Adjunct Professor of Leadership and Change Management in the Graduate School
of Business and serves as an Adjunct Professor of Leadership in the Graduate
School of Leadership and Professional Development. In addition, he is also
an Adjunct Associate Professor of Leadership in the University of
Pittsburgh’s Graduate School of Education.
Dr. Groves’ specialties include: human resources, mentoring skills,
leadership development, human resource alignment and integrated systems
development, talent management, change management, organizational
development and evaluation research.
A resident of Upper St. Clair, Dr. Groves is also an Advisor to the Thai-USA
Student Cultural Exchange Program which is a cross-cultural collaboration
between Upper St. Clair High School and the top four high schools in
Bangkok, Thailand. Currently this reciprocal cultural exchange program is in
its fourth year at Upper St. Clair High School.
A free thinker, consultant and mentor with extensive international and
cross-cultural experience, Dr. Groves has created state of the art systems
and processes which have served as model systems in the countries and
organizations in which they have been applied. Currently, a large part of
his consulting practice has been focusing on the Middle East and Arabian
Gulf where he is a consultant and advisor to national oil companies,
national health systems and national education organizations. He also has
offices in Southeast Asia and Pittsburgh.
